The image above is from my trip to the Nashville zoo, it has nothing to do with this article, just enjoy it!
I have a story for you on this edition of "Quick Newsflash". A few days ago (at the time of writing this) I was out buying fireworks with my Father for the 4th of July. Please note, I am well-known for having a bit of a coffee habit.
After we had picked up all our fireworks and got driving again, I asked if he could drive me to get a coffee. He said he was wondering when I was gonna ask that. So, he foreknew that I would ask him for a coffee.
What was the point of that story? Simple, he knew I would ask for a coffee. Yet, I still of course had the free will to ask him for one or not. And he certainly wasn't "forcing" me to ask for a coffee. The same goes for God. The fact that God knows all our thoughts...past, present, and future, does not undermine our free will. Nor does it indicate that God is forcing us to make our decisions.
Omniscience does not nullify freedom of the will. Thanks for reading!
